ABOUT US |
We are a non-profit voluntary based humanitarian International organization (registration in Ghana No.D.S.W./1601) consisting of individuals of different nationalities, backgrounds & experience.
We are able to spend our full time in voluntary work, using our abilities to the fullest in service to others. All our members are non-salaried volunteers who are dedicated to the common goal of improving people’s lives. |
Raising the Education Standard |
Believing that children are the hope of the future, and that learning the English language is a major asset in improving their lot in life, one of our main focus is to give them the basic education at a very early age. as Glen Doman states that the child will learn 80% in the first five years then what he is going to learn for the rest of his life, so the first five years are very crucial in training up a child.while at the same time showing that learning can be fun.
By working together with many of these children's teachers and school directors, the exercise lends an opportunity to help these instructors likewise broaden their own horizons, liven up their deliveries, and experience new educational materials for schools and educators.
Additionally, we hold regular seminars to help train teachers in early learning techniques and innovative teaching ideas. It's been our experience that a number of teachers in schools sometimes lack vision and modern approaches to teaching, so these seminars in themselves do directly help improve the quality of education. |
The full time Volunteers of Family Outreach Ghana also conducts regular teachers & parents meeting to help train parents. Children have been our main focus specifically the local school system.
In an effort to strengthen their educational standards, we provide seminars to local teachers where the children are schooled. Teachers from different schools have come to realization that school is not place to teach but also to learn.
Through FOG support, not only children but also their parents have deepened their awareness toward qualitative education. It was encouraging that many of the parents, especially mothers who tend to be uneducated and illiterate, started to seek to gain literacy. A special seminar was conducted for the teachers to create awareness and sensitivity to the children's emotional needs.
